Features vs. Television. From the entrance of television broadcast to nuclear homes across the board, TV had a fresh new presentation of “entertaining.” Hollywood studios, quick on the take, created new theatre draws including color saturated films and widescreen format. With TV addition to viewer options, attached, a new queue: produce fresh, weekly programming, wash set, repeat. Actors, disillusioned with the failing studio support, had new options for employ…

Television, when series’-produced, can have schedule-steady production and gainful rate, when picked up for season renew. Take a trip to the Guild and you’ll find TV directors (and writers) faster than a click-remote. And few direct as often as write for television skein.
Why?
Think “Control.” In H-Town, building your show can be task, and time, valuable. And while directing is nice in television, producing herein lies the A-type.
Quicksilverfunsugar will share, a director for television under entity helm varies considerably from directing a feature film. Writing for television and features, can have teleplay scribes and screenwriters working amidst production phase, but if you are a television director/executive producer, why do all the directing… the control – maintained by producer…
Producers in TV (showrunners) have a particular skill when at TV helm – they can place effort into writing, editing, creative aspect in series’ meld while upgrading script for the next, cross-plot show outsourced. Outsourced, because once the tone and projectory of a series is established, producers may add directors at a pop. They’re busy. Creating…

Eat, Pray, Love‘s Ryan MURPHY, producer, FOX‘s “Glee,” keeps the director for television door open, “… It’s so hard to break into directing…” expressed, within producer thought…
**
Television is film production condensed, reconstituted. Some executive producers will tell you, feature film production needs to trim the ‘expense fat.’ A feature director knows, producers set limits, but it’s her/his team which place “effect” with affect, establishing b.o. future, which can bend, potential production woe…
It’s production; all things, negotiable.
Production 101. Class dismissed.
